Rozerem™ is indicated for the treatment of insomnia, both temporary and chronic.
Patients who have severe hepatic impairment should not take prescription Rozerem™. Do not take Rozerem if you are taking fluvoxamine. Rozerem™ has been approved by the FDA treatment of sleep problems and insomnia, but there have not been adequate studies done on patients taking Rozerem and who suffer from sleep problems, there have not been adequate studies done on individuals who are taking Rozerem and who have severe sleep apnea or severe COPD. Do not take Rozerem if you have these conditions unless otherwise instructed specifically by your doctor. While taking Rozerem, take caution if you decide to drink alcohol. There have been some reports that Rozerem™ has been linked to a decrease in testosterone and an increase in prolactin levels. If you notice any unusual symptoms while taking Rozerem let your doctor know so they can determine if the symptoms are related to a change in these hormones. Children and adolescents should not take Rozerem as the effects have not been determined in these populations.
For Rozerem™ to work most efficiently, it's suggested that you take this prescription about 30 minutes before going to bed. After taking Rozerem, only engage in activities that involve your normal nightly routine. Rozerem™ should not be taken with or immediately after you eat a meal containing high-fat. You shouldn't engage in activities that require focus or awareness while taking Rozerem.
Side effects that occur while taking Rozerem are minimal and included only somnolence, dizziness, and fatigue.
