Rozerem™ is the only FDA approved prescription sleep medication in its class that will help you sleep safely without becoming habit forming. Rozerem™ is typically prescribed to treat individuals temporarily suffering from insomnia, or suffering from chronic insomnia. Rozerem has been proven not to cause dependency or become an abused substance.
Rozerem™ is used for the treatment of temporary or chronic insomnia.
Rozerem™ should not be used by individuals who have severe hepatic impairment. It should also not be used by individuals who are currently taking fluvoxamine. Although the FDA has approved Rozerem™ for use in those who suffer from sleep problems, there have not been adequate studies done on individuals who are taking Rozerem and suffer from severe sleep apnea or severe COPD. It is not recommended for patients with these conditions to take this medication. If you drink alcohol, it's important that you use caution when consuming alcohol and taking Rozerem. In some cases, Rozerem™ has been linked to a decrease in levels of testosterone and an increase in levels of prolactin. Your doctor should be aware of any symptoms that may arise while taking Rozerem that could be associated with a change in these hormone levels. Children and adolescents should not take Rozerem as its effects have not been determined in these populations.
For Rozerem™ to work most efficiently, you should take this medication about 30 minutes before going to bed and you should limit your activities include only those associated with preparing for bed. You should not take Rozerem™ with or immediately after you eat a meal containing high-fat. You shouldn't engage in activities that require alertness or concentration while taking Rozerem.
Side effects with Rozerem are rare. In studies done on this medication, the most common side effects that occurred in more than 2% of individuals during a double-blind study were fatigue, somnolence, and dizziness.
Prescription Rozerem™ is not indicated for use in combination with fluvoxamine. |
